Welcome to the New Year at Karibu Nyumbani!
Our Christmas was a day to remember!
The Season of Christmas is a wonderful time to meditate and ask the Holy Spirit to deepen us in the knowledge and wonder of Our Father God’s heart and His grace towards us, through the gift of His Son Jesus. However, for some of us it can bring with it a little sadness and pain, and I had just a little of that when I woke on Christmas morning. However as Ludmila and I started to share our home baked cakes and biscuits with members of Agape, whilst Ester and her sister cooked Pilau together to take to Karibu Nyumbani, we soon entered into the joy and love of Christmas day! We reached Karibu Nyumbani at 1. 30pm spread a few pretty cloths on the roughly built tables and sang, with drum and percussion, our "Grace" with all our hungry builders.
After a delicious meal Ludmila lit the candles of Augustino’s birthday cake in the back of the car, and then Augustino proceeded to feed each of us in the African Tradition.
Work then continued as any other day but Ludmila and I walked through the village to meet as many children we could find to give them a lollies. Most mums and dads around were just as excited to get one too!!
More Buildings going up!
It was our hope to have moved by Christmas or New Year, however, our finishing touches have taken a lot longer than we thought. So whilst waiting for our first house to be finished, we continued building, and have now reached the roof of the second house on the other side of the entrance.
Kisima- Well for Rain Water
[caption id="attachment_634" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] WELL FOR DRINKING WATER
Fetching water in our village is a big job, and children are cycling up and down the road with barrels attached to their bikes, and women with their buckets on their heads. Every bucket costs money! Members of our village have agreed to pay for water to be brought to the village by pipe but this could take time (as with many things!) So we have dug a 7 meter deep well to catch the rain water from our rooves. We’re hoping it will be ready for the heavy rains in March, and that it will be enough water for us and crops for the year!
THANKS!
I am so grateful for our workers who have worked under our faithful foreman Mfaume working closely with Ester.
However without the generosity of the gifts that have been given, we could not have proceeded. So thank you TOO!

Volunteers.
I had an email from a very dear friend who’s youngest daughter wants to spend her three months summer holiday with us! So we are delighted that doors are opening up for others as things are moving forward
